‘Shadow Force’ Trailer: Kerry Washington & Omar Sy Fight for Family in Action-Packed Spy Thriller

The first trailer for Shadow Force has arrived, promising a thrilling mix of espionage, action, and family drama. Directed by Joe Carnahan (The Grey), the film stars Kerry Washington (Scandal) and Omar Sy (Lupin), who play former special ops leaders who defied the rules by falling in love. Now, they must fight to protect their son while being hunted by their own.
A High-Stakes Spy Thriller
In Shadow Force, Kyrah (Washington) and Isaac (Sy) were once the elite leaders of an international special forces group known as Shadow Force. But when their relationship crossed the line, they became targets. Now, with a massive bounty on their heads and their son in danger, the family is forced into a desperate fight for survival against their former team.
The film also stars Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Cliff “Method Man” Smith, and Mark Strong. Strong portrays the ruthless antagonist who will stop at nothing to track them down.
Familiar Formula, Fresh Perspective
With themes reminiscent of Mr. & Mrs. Smith and The Bourne Identity, Shadow Force blends explosive action with comedy and emotional stakes. The trailer teases intense fight sequences, globe-trotting chase scenes, and a powerful family dynamic, all wrapped in a gripping spy thriller package.
While this marks Washington and Sy’s first film together, both actors are no strangers to the genre. Washington previously starred in Bad Company (2002), while Sy made waves with Netflix’s Lupin and the Peacock thriller The Killer.
Coming Soon to Theaters
With its star power, thrilling action, and emotional core, Shadow Force is shaping up to be one of 2025’s must-see spy films. The film hits theaters on May 2, 2025.
