JetBlue Pilot Arrested in Boston on North Carolina Child Exploitation Charges

HUNTERSVILLE, NC – A JetBlue pilot was arrested in Boston while preparing for an international flight after authorities discovered an active warrant from North Carolina related to child exploitation charges.

Jeremy Gudorf, 33, was detained on February 20 by Massachusetts State Police after U.S. Customs and Border Protection conducted a routine check of the flight crew manifest for a Boston-to-Paris flight. The review flagged an outstanding warrant from Huntersville, North Carolina, leading to Gudorf’s immediate arrest on the plane before takeoff.

NC Investigation Uncovered Explicit Material

The Huntersville Police Department (HPD) launched an investigation in October 2024 after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Authorities then obtained a search warrant for Google records, which reportedly led to evidence identifying Gudorf as the source of explicit images.

By late 2024, Google complied with the warrant, providing crucial records to law enforcement. Based on the findings, Huntersville investigators secured an arrest warrant for second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

Legal Proceedings & Court Orders

Gudorf was arraigned on February 21 in East Boston District Court, where prosecutors requested that he be held without bail and surrender his passport. However, the judge set bail at $10,000 and ordered Gudorf to return to North Carolina by February 25. If he clears the warrant, his next Massachusetts court date on March 19 will be waived.

Gudorf’s defense attorney, Tanvi Verma, stated that he has no prior criminal history and that he intends to comply fully with the court’s orders. “There is no running away from this case, judge. He’s perfectly aware of that,” Verma said.

JetBlue Takes Action

JetBlue confirmed Gudorf has been placed on indefinite leave while authorities handle the case. “We are aware of and closely reviewing the arrest of one of our pilots,” the airline said in a statement.

Huntersville Police emphasized their commitment to pursuing cases involving child exploitation, urging the public to report any suspicious online activity. The case remains under active investigation, and additional details are expected to emerge as Gudorf returns to North Carolina to face charges.
